This picture is us in March, 1996, after my accident and was taken when Harime took me to a computer show, to show me everything that 'I' could do with one. As you can probably tell from the picture, the 60 mile ride left me in pain, but I was happy to be there. 8~))

Compromise Lapghan

Okay this pattern came about because I was playing around with Harime's favorite pattern, the Shell and one of my favorites, the Ripple, then threw in some front and back posts and came up with a 'Compromise'. Thus the name of the pattern. Hey, it worked during our marriage, I figured it would have to work here too! *SMILE* Also 'Compromise' works just find without the front and back posts for those of you that prefer a 'smoother compromise'. 8~))


MATERIALS:
6 ozs each of 4 colors, 4 ply worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook

FINISHED SIZE:
27" wide x 40" long

PATTERN NOTES: The lapghan above has Rows 2 and 3 repeated in groups of 5 rows for each color.

DIRECTIONS:
Ch 137
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in the next 6 ch, *5 dc in next ch, dc in next 6 ch, skip next 2 ch, dc in next 6 ch*; repeat between * across row ending with dc in last 7 ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Skip 2 dc, *Front Post(FP)around next dc, dc in next 5 st, 5 dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, FP around next st, skip next 4 dc*; repeat between * across row ending with dc in next 5 sts, FP around next st, skip 2 dc, dc in last st, ch 3, turn.
Row 3: Skip 2 dc, *Back Post(BP)around next dc, dc in next 5 st, 5 dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, BP around next st, skip next 4 dc*; repeat between * across row ending with dc in next 5 sts, BP around next st, skip 2 dc, dc in last st, ch 3, turn.

Repeat rows 2 and 3, changing colors as desired, until it measures 40" or desired length, ending with row 3.

FINISHING: The only thing needed for finishing is to make sure all loose ends are weaved in.
