Harime's Peek-A-Boo Shell Lapghan

This one is for you, Hon. This pattern is dedicated to my wonderful husband, Harime, who was my biggest supporter and fan and who passed away Nov. 3, 1999.


MATERIALS:
12 ozs Main Color, 4 ply worsted weight yarn
2 ozs each of the 6 alternating colors, 4 ply worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook
(yarn quantities are as close as I could get them)

FINISHED SIZE:
3' wide x 4.5' long

PATTERN NOTES: The lapghan above has Rows 2 and 3 repeated 2 times each, for the main color ending with row 2. And Rows 2 and 3 repeated 3 times each, for each alternating color, ending with row 2.

DIRECTIONS:
Ch 204
Row 1: 2dc in 4th ch from hook (ch 3 counts as first dc; half shell made), *skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, skip next 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch (shell made)* repeat between * across to last 3 ch, skip 2 ch, 3 dc in last ch, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in first dc, *ch 4, sc in 3rd dc of next shell*, repeat between * to end,ending with sc in top of the beg ch 3 of row 1, ch 3, turn.
NOTE: AT THE END OF THIS ROW, IS WHERE THE COLOR CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE BEFORE CHAINING 3. THE CHAIN 3 SHOULD BE MADE WITH THE NEW COLOR.
Row 3: 2dc in same stitch as ch 3, * sc in ch 4 space, 5 dc in next sc*, repeat between * across, ending with 3 dc in last sc, ch 1 turn.

Repeat rows 2 and 3, changing colors as desired, until it measures 3' or desired width, ending with row 2. FINISHING: The only thing needed for finishing is to make sure all loose ends are weaved in.
