Hugs & Kisses Ghan

Pattern By: Martha Clem aka StarGazer

This pattern came about because I was tired of making the baby ripple pattern and was generally bored with all the patterns that I had been using. *SMILE* I also needed something I could make up quickly for baby gifts and that would also 'translate' well into larger sizes for lapghans, etc. So started playing around and came up with the open spaces making the "X's" and then used the 'center' section between the X's to form diamonds or by stretching my vivid imagination, in search of a name........."O's for Hugs and Kisses. *SMILE* Everyone I've made this ghan for has loved it. Hope y'all have fun with it too.
I've tried to make this pattern as easy to follow as possible, with st counts in blue.

MATERIALS:
4 6oz skeins Caron Simply Soft yarn
G Hook
Finished Size:
Approx. 40" x 48"
The size will depend on each individual crocheter's gauge, hook and yarn used. The one in the picture has 11 X's across and 11X's down with just enough yarn left over for a simple shell edging.

Row 10: Dc in each st and space across. Ch 3, turn.

Repeat Rows 3-10 until desired length, ending with Row 10, then repeat Row 1 to finish it off. Here you can either fasten of and weave in the ends and it's finished or you can add an edging of your choice. I chose a shell edging on the one in the picture, but it is just as pretty without the edging. So here the choice is yours, to edge or not, and which of your favorite edgings will you use? Maybe something different for each child............ *SMILE*
