SMALL PETAL (make 3)
Row 1: Starting at center,ch 4; cluster(cl), (yo, insert hook in ch, yo draw through ch, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) 2 times in 4th ch from hook, yo,draw through all 3 lps on hook; ch 1 dc in same space, turn (1 ch-4sp, 1cl, 1dc)
Row 2 & 3: Ch 4, cl in top of next cl, ch 1, dc in last ch 4 sp, turn.
Row 4: Ch 4, cl in top of next cl; for picot, ch 4, sl st in front lp of last cl made; ch, sl st in last ch 4 sp. Fasten off.
Row 5: Working in ends of the rows and in sts, join thread with sc in row 1, sc in same row, (2hdc, ch 1, 2hdc) in next row, (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next row, (2tr, ch 1, 2tr) in next row, (3tr, ch 1, 3tr) in picot, (2tr, ch 1, 2tr) in next row, (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next row, (2hdc, ch 1, 2hdc) in next row, 2 sc in last row. Fasten off.

LARGE PETAL (make 3)

STAMEN (make 3)
With orange, ch 13, sc in the 4th ch from hook, ch 4, (sc in next ch, ch 4) across with (sc, ch 5, sc) in end ch; working on opposite side of ch, (ch 4, sc in next ch) across. Fasten off.

NOTES: 3 leaves were used in the bouquest shown in the photo. Make as many as you desire for your own bouquet.

Row 1: With green, ch 4, sl st in first ch toform ring,ch 4, (shell, ch 1, shell, ch 1, dc) in ring, turn (8dc, 3 ch-1 sps).
Rows 2-16: Ch 4, skip first ch-1 sp. shell in each ch-1 sp across,ch 1, dc in last ch-4 sp, turn (3 shells, 4 ch-1 sps, 1 ch-4 sp).
Row 17: Ch 4, 2 dc in first shell, ch 1, shell in next shell, ch 1 2 dc in next shell, ch 1, dc in last ch-4 sp, turn.
Row 18: Ch 4, skip first ch-1 sp, (2dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1) 3 times, dc in last ch-4 sp, turn.
Row 19: Ch 4, skip first ch-1 sp, 2dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, 2dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in last ch 4 sp, turn.

FINISHING
1. With wrong side of large petal, wrong side of stamen and right side of small petal facing you, holding all three pieces together, insert 32 gauge wire through row 1 of each piece to wrong side fo small petal. Insert wire back through all 3 pieces with 1 stitch between until ends of wire are even. Twist wire together close to piece to secure. Repeat for remaining 2 pieces.
2. Stiffen

3. Cut two styrofoam balls in half. Using 3 halves, pin wrong side of large petals ovr styrofoam balls. Insert styrofoam ball in center of small petals pinning according to illustration at right. Let dry.
4: Join the three petal sections together by twisting the smaller wire around stem. Use floral tape to fashion calyx or use a plastic one with a small amount of glue to hold iris to calyx. Let dry.
5: Stretch and pin leaves to cardboard. Let dry. To shape, curve gently.
6: Use wire and floral tape to attach leaves, (run wire through leave and around the main stem). Use floral tape to cover the joining. Use tape on whole stem for even blending.
